How I Work
I take on a maximum of three advisory relationships at a time. Engagements are typically structured around a specific problem or growth stage rather than open-ended retainers.
I prefer founders who have already done the thinking and want a sparring partner, not someone who needs to be told what to do.
Engagements include: equity advisory (for early-stage startups), project-based consulting (for specific problems with a clear scope), and board/committee roles (for later-stage companies or regulated entities).
What I Look For
- A specific problem that my experience in insurance, AI, or African markets is directly relevant to
- A founding team that executes — I can't help companies that don't ship
- Willingness to hear honest feedback, including when the answer is "this won't work"
- A business model that can scale without requiring infrastructure that doesn't exist yet
